Ting & Jeff strolling hand in hand through the Ledebour Garden in Prague during their pre wedding photo session.
For many couples traveling half way around the world for a portrait session in a foreign land can be quite daunting especially if you are doing it only for the pictures. With so much riding on a successful outcome it can cause couples quite a bit of angst. And what if you do not feel comfortable in front of the camera?
Our latest couple Ting & Jeff are two very sweet and extremely camera shy people. As they explained they were quite concerned about looking their best in their very important pre wedding photos.
After listening to their concerns I suggested a natural light session: no assistants, no waiting to set up gear, just two people exploring the best of Prague and in their own way and pace. With these types of sessions there is minimal directing in hopes that couples just relax and enjoy the moment and let me worry about creating beautiful pictures. They were game.
On a chilly Autumn morning where the sky was still dark, were headed out to explore the very best that Prague has to offer. The first place: the Charles Bridge. The more they experienced first hand the quiet beauty of this incredible city the more they became themselves.
I always explain to couples that these sessions are not about being posed but about capturing how you felt at that moment in time. For this couple, 2.5 hours was the magic amount of time and who can forget the breathtaking beauty of the Ledebour garden.
Not only did Ting & Jeff relax and have fun, they now have a set of portraits they can be proud of.
This session started in the early hours at the Charles Bridge, a popular location for many wishing to experience the unforgettable sight of the sunrise over the spires of Prague. As it was Autumn we also took in several locations such as the castle steps where the fall foliage was vivid in its red, pinks and greens. We also visited a secret spot overlooking Prague as well as walked them through the vineyards of Petrin hill - a local favorite of lovers and the romantic types.
The bride had a small change with her hair piece and afterwards we explored the Ledebour Garden where many of their favorite images were captured such as this simple one of them walking through the lower part
This session was originally scheduled for 2.5 hours but the couple opted for an extra 2 hours as they were having way too much fun to end it early.
